Calamagrostis x acutiflora 'Karl Foerster'
A strongly vertical flower stem bleaching to a beautiful straw colour late in the season. It provides good contrast to low-mounded perennials or shrubs. Very architectural and superb for informal screening. How to grow:

Short bell-shaped, racemes of pale purplish flowers in spring, followed by dark blue-black fruit. Looks good interplanted with small wandering perennial, lacy foliage and fragile pink flowers. It also makes a good foil for dwarf rock garden bulbs in spring. |
